Ristar

1995

Sega

Ristar is one of the more unique platformers on the Mega Drive, with a character who can use his extending arms to grab objects, climb obstacles and sling himself into enemies. Mastering the grab is a must if you want to see the later levels, which is annoying as it's not always accurate or reliable, sometimes you'll hit an enemy dead-on, other times you'll miss a grab and fall to your doom. This game is a solid experience from start to finish, but I'd rather play something else with a less finicky moveset.

Pros

+Some very catchy Sonic-style tunes
+Beautiful graphics

Cons

-Hit and miss grab ability
