Verytex is technically a competent shooter, shooting things feels satisfying, the powerups are helpful and it controls fine. Some of the backgrounds can make it difficult to see your enemies, but other than that the gameplay is solid. The problem is with the difficulty. Dying at any point in the game will send you back to the start of the level, making lives completely pointless. The music is definitely above average, but it's not worth putting yourself through the frustration just to hear the different tracks.
